Sunday and After-School Enrichment

Our extracurricular programs spark creativity and curiosity by giving students hands-on explorations of a wide variety of subjects and skills. At Walder Science, kids experiment with kitchen chemistry and candle making, build flying machines and electronic devices, coding games, and 3D modeling and printing, each class immerses children in a new world of discovery. We cultivate a lifelong love of learning and empower children to think critically, invent, and explore the world around them.

COMPETITION AND ADVANCED LEARNING

Young Jewish Innovators Challenge and Jerusalem Science Contest

The Young Jewish Innovators Challenge invites 9th and 10th-grade young women to use creative thinking and problem-solving skills to seek solutions to real-life issues that impact our community. Students work in teams to develop an innovation and compete against other students in Chicago Jewish high schools.
The Jerusalem Science Contest is an international competition for 11th and 12th grade Jewish high school students interested in learning a cutting-edge science topic and its Judaic relevance. Participants study selected readings and video lectures, and compete through a series of 8 exams and a research project, with the opportunity to win prize money, a college scholarship, or even a trip to Israel.
TEACHER AND SCHOOL SUPPORT

Teachers can unlock a treasure trove of STEAM learning support. We offer robust support for teachers of grades K-12 in the areas of science, math, and coding/robotics. It has never been easier to bring lessons to life with custom labs and demos, obtain expert consultation and mentoring, and to be equipped with advanced tools and technologies.
